As with any sporting exercise, practicing how to do a toe touch demands that you become disciplined and follow the steps as instructed in the manual to the latter. It is an exercise that can be achieved very inexpensively and while you are just there at home. No need to go to the gym, just some practices at home will get you started.

The following is a series of steps that if followed correctly will get you on the right path to learning how to do a toe touch.

While starting off, have your both feet together. Look for a high object that is next to you and which is just above your normal eye level. Count 5,6,7,8 and then start off from one. At one, put your hands together as if you are clapping and on two, putting your arms in dagger position, holding four, swinging your arms, making five jumps while trying to set your legs as much as possible, six land your feet together and with your hands on your thighs on seven, and pop out on eight making sure to cup your hands under the butt and legs apart.

You can make your toe touches higher even when you are just watching TV or just sitting around in the house by sitting in a straddle. Make sure that you keep your back straight while keeping your upper body above the straddle to stretch. And just so you know, make sure you smile.

The following are some of the tips that will enhance your process of learning how to do a toe touch.

  • You should not literally touch your toes as per the instruction coz this will lower your jump, as your chest will drop.

  • One way of making your jump higher is by “sitting” into the toe touch this helps in rotating your hips thus making them get higher.

  • Try to break your T motion slightly. This is important in making your legs appear higher.

  • It is also advisable that if possible, attempt a trampoline first.

  • However you need to be careful about the following:

  • In spite of the simplicity of this exercise, it can be painful if wrongly executed.

  • Before attempting this jump, stretch a bit to avoid getting muscle pull.

  • Finally, you need to avoid attempting this kind of jump from a star-jump point of view.
